2017 Fraser Gallop Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Totally opaque dark red core with black tinged edgings and a bright red hue. Aromas of red currant and mulberry are laced with fresh herbs, dusty earth and cedary tobacco notes. Medium bodied, fresh and elegant, the palate serves up ripe red currant and mulberry fruit subtlety infused with cedary tobacco characters, fresh herbs and spicy earth. Dry, vibrant finish with slightly chalky tannins and a medium length aftertaste.

6% petit verdot included, 15 months in used French oak. Hits the right notes with aromas of blackcurrant, cedar and a smattering of green herb, and there might even be a touch of petit verdot perfume in the background. On the generous side of medium-bodied, it glides easily along the palate with attractive red and black berry flavours and melded tannin. Drink by 2027.
