Some of the best parcels of fruit across Elderton’s Nuriootpa and Greenock vineyards were utilised to produce this excellent Cabernet. Vine age ranged between 21-74 years old with maturation taking place in predominately in second and third fill French oak hogsheads and puncheons for 22 months.

Fabulous fruit purity combines with an understated elegance in this superb expression of Barossa Cabernet.

Totally opaque black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. On the nose there’s good intensity to the blackcurrant and liquorice aromatics which mix with subtle vanillin cedar, tobacco characters, a hint of earth and spicy bay leaf. Rich and plush in its texture yet possessing an understated elegance, a result of the cooler vintage conditions, the palate delivers a concentrated flavour profile of ripe blackcurrant, dark plum and liquorice fruit. A back drop of cedary tobacco characters, subtle earthy dried herbs and spicy bay leaf adds compexity. Polished yet sturdy tannins provide plenty of structure. Finishes long with a flurry of rich fruit.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
