2017 Domaine William Fevre Montmains Chablis Premier Cru
River stone like mouth feel with shimmering acidity and a long, dry, chalky finish.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinct glimmer of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Complimenting pronounced pear and lime scents are whiffs of wet slate, faint bees wax and oyster shell. Carrying a river stone like mouth feel, vibrant pear and lime fruits meld into a slatey back drop of green apple, flinty mineral elements and oyster shell. Shimmering acidity leads into a long, dry, chalky finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews…..
This has a very fresh and pure lemon nose with iodine, wet-chalk and spiced almond-biscuit notes. The palate has a stunning array of lemons, peaches and grapefruit with a seamless, pastry-like texture and a late, flinty twist to the succulent, grapefruit finish. Drink or hold.

The 2017 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru is a dense, powerful wine that very much shows the low yields of the vintage in its sheer richness. Citrus, floral and savory notes are front and center, but more than anything else, the 2017 stands out for its concentration, power and persistence. This is impressive. Drink 2022-2032.
