Deep black dark red core with a dark red hue. Filling the nostrils are delightful scents of black raspberry and liquorice which are complimented by hints of violets, scorched earth, leather and pepper. Delicious black raspberry, plum and liquorice fruits dance across the palate with a sense of vitality underscored by infusions of provincial herbs, subtle incense, light earth and pepper nuances. Finishes with plenty of freshness and a sense of elegance. Slightly chewy but otherwise polished tannins lead into a lengthy pepper infused aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 15%

Other Reviews….
A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre that's from the sea of vines located between Vacqueyras and Cairanne, the 2017 Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan De Dieu Vieilles Vignes is still aging in concrete tanks. It's a ripe, opulent beauty that offers tons of black raspberries, toasted spice, garrigue and chocolate aromas and flavors. With a full-bodied, powerful, yet ultra-fine style, ripe tannin, and a great finish, it's going to be a screaming value. Let’s hope it shows this spectacularly from bottle.
