2017 Domaine Des Hauts Chassis Crozes-Hermitage Les Galets

Syrah sourced from vines between 30-50 years old. Midnight black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Sailing out of the glass are scents of ripe black cherries, liquorice and black raspberries which morph into scorched earth, leather and peppered dried meat nuances. Rich and full a combination of black raspberry, liquorice and black cherry fruit engulf the palate with smoked meats, earthy leather and peppery dried herbs on the back half. Ripe chewy textural feel with sturdily built tannins and a generous medium length aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
