Dark red black in colour with a dark red hue. Nosing offers up red to dark currant and mulberry scents with hints of spicy capsicum in the background. Black olive and tobacco notes are also present. Medium bodied and very elegant in its feel, red currant and mulberry fruits are counterpointed against some subtle green bean, black olive, tobacco leaf and spicy cedar characters. Slightly edgy acidity with fine grained tannins and a medium length finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
From the sole hectare-or-so of cabernet off the Sunbury estate of Craiglee. The oft-overlooked red there.

It’s supple and gentle, soft and cool. A wine of perfume, blue fruits, violets and cassis, sweetish, ripeish but understated and flecked with fennel and sage leaf detail. It’s fresh, breezy, but has a chocolatey core, slick tannin, briny acidity and a pencil shavings and peppery spice finish. It feels elegant and svelte even with the sweeter fruit character. Understated charm in spades, a beautiful, quiet wine of finesse. Remarkable for the money. Drink 2021-2040.
