Midnight black dark red core with a deep dark red hue. A touch restrained at first, the nose offers up black raspberry and liquorice scents followed by blackpepper, earth, subtle graphite and spiced dried meats. Rich black raspberry and liquorice fruits flow generously across the medium to full bodied palate underscored by scorched earth, dried meats and pepper. Slightly chewy, ripe tannins with a long flavoursome finish.

Other Reviews….
The 2017 Lirac isn’t bottled but certainly looks to be an outstanding wine. Terrific notes of cassis, graphite, black raspberries, and subtle oak all give way to a rounded, seamless, elegant wine that has a slightly modern vibe yet stays firmly planted in the Southern Rhône. Drink 2019-2026.
