2017 Castagna Un Segreto

A biodynamic certified single vineyard blend of Sangiovese and Shiraz. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Ripe red to black currant and liquorice aromas show ample volume with dusty cedar, tobacco, earth, dried herb and faint spicy leather notes ensuing. Rich blackcurrant, blackberry and liquorice fruits swamp the mid weighted palate with a ripe generous feel. Earthy tobacco, dried herb and spicy cedar characters filling out the back half. Refined and powerful with polished tannins. Concludes long and savoury with a subtle rusticity.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
