2017 Buller Wines Calliope Shiraz

Aged in American oak hogsheads for 2 years. Black as night in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Aromas of black cherry, liquorice and blackberry waft from the glass with accents of toasty vanillin oak and spicy earth picked up along the way. Voluptuously rich, the palate is awash with lavishly textured black cherry, liquorice and toasty vanillin oak flavours. Spicy scorched earth characters lie beneath. Velvety tannins with a long toasty vanillin oak laden aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
