2017 Brash Higgins SHZ Omensetter Vineyard Shiraz

Includes some whole bunches with maturation taking place in French hogsheads for 15 months. Midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Leathery barnyard like scents dominate the nose hiding liquorice and dark plum notes with earth and spicy dried herbs also present. Ripe and slippery in its feel liquorice and plum fruits are mostly concealed by earthy leather, barnyard and spicy dried herb characters. Lots of fresh acidity with finely grained, structured tannins. Concludes with medium length. The earthy barnyard and leather characters are too prominent and will only intensify with the passage of time.
