Aged in French oak puncheons and barriques. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Nosing offers up aromas of liquorice, blackberry and dark plum which meld into toasty vanillin oak, graphite, dried meats and pepper. Medium bodied with a supple entry, dark plum and liquorice fruits are overtaken by toasty oak, earthy clove and blackpepper characters on the back palate. Dryish finish with slightly chalky tannins and a medium length aftertaste.
