2017 B-Qa de Marsyas

Established by the renown French Bordeaux Oenologist Stephane Derenoncourt this is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Mourvedre, 5% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Syrah aged in barrels for 8 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. Lifted blackcurrant and earthy black olive top notes are trailed by some tobacco, dried herb and leather scents. Medium to full in body the palate carries ample richness and flesh with flavours of blackcurrant and dark cherries to the fore. Notions of earth, dried herbs, cedary tobacco characters and spicy leather sit underneath. Ripe, slightly chewy tannin structure with a long generously flavoured yet refined conclusion.
