2016 Yering Station Shiraz Viognier

Impenetrable inky black core with a dark red black tinged hue. Drifting from the glass is a bouquet of dark plums and liquorice laced with smoky vanillin cedar, traces of fennel, light dried herbs and pepper. Rich dark plum, blackberry and liquorice flavours fill the medium to full bodied palate giving the wine an opulent mouthfeel. Underpinning the fruit is subtle fennel, smoky vanillin cedar and pepper. Excellent power and concentration with velvet like yet robust tannins. Long spicy dark plum, liquorice, fennel, smoky vanillin cedar and pepper aftertaste.
