2016 Yalumba The Virgilius Viognier

Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinct tinge of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Nosing offers up apricot, peach and honeysuckle scents which have a light toast overlay. Hints of lemon butter and spice are also evident. Light in weight yet very rounded and supple in its feel, the palate has an elegant flavour profile of apricot, bees wax and honeysuckle with some faint buttery characters and spice in the background. Dry and still quite fresh on the finish with a refined medium length aftertaste that sees the emergence of subtle oily toast like characters.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
