2016 Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot matured in French oak barriques, 44% new, for a period of 19 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Intense blackcurrant aromas tinged with hints of black olive are trailed by mulberry, subtle cigar box, bay leaf and spice notes. Medium bodied with an elegant yet sturdy frame, the palate features a refined flavour profile of red and black currant fruit which melds into mulberry, cedary tobacco characters, dried herbs and spice. Slightly dryish, finely grained tannins concluding with a medium length aftertaste.
