Brilliant water like core with a vibrant green tinged outskirts. Elevated lime and green apple scents are followed by subtle oily toast like notes, faint bees wax and flinty minerals. Zesty lemon and lime flavours are married to Granny Smith apple and light oily toast characters. Finishes dry and crunchy with crisp acidity and a zippy flinty mineral laden aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews....
From early promise, to calamities, to a dry tail saving the vintage, 2016 was peripatetic. Yet here, at this most reliable address, very good across the suite of whites. Planted in 1908 on sand. Crushed with 50% stems intact, as is the wont here. The HVD is the more phenolic of Tyrell's 3 single-vineyard semillons. De rigeur flavour intensity. Talc, bath salts and pumice. Lemon rind to grapefruit scents, too. A forceful finish marked by a generosity of extract and a gentle pucker. This will age very well. Drink by 2030.

Very light and delicate, with an asprin flavour through it at present, so optimists might hope that may mitigate the effects of drinking a whole bottle at once? Maybe not. Anyway, more to lemon than lime, slightly herbal, firm tangy acidity, and a finish of decent length struck with a little bitterness. It’s very young and lean, and may surprise with bottle age.
