Matured in mostly seasoned French oak barriques for 10 months. Impenetrable inky black colour with a dark red black tinged hue. The nose dispels aromas of liquorice and ripe black cherries with a distinct blackpepper overlay. Subtle smoky clove and spice notes are also evident. Medium to full bodied, rich liquorice and blackberry flavours dominate over fresh plum, earthy vanillin cedar, some smoky characters and blackpepper. Has a slightly stern feel and a sturdy tannin structure. Bright finish with a medium to long blackpepper laced aftertaste.
