2016 Stonier Chardonnay

This wine was mostly fermented in French oak barriques followed by maturation in the same barriques for 9 months. The remaining portion was fermented in tank to provide freshness. Brilliant very pale straw colour with a glimmer of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Elevated aromatics of white peaches are married to citrusy nougat and dried honey followed by some light cashew and spice. Medium weight, although a touch lighter than more recent vintages, the palates slight creaminess is offset by a fresh dry finish. Refined flavours of white peaches and citrusy nougat overlay subtle dried honey infusions and some spicy cashew. Aftertaste of white peaches, citrusy nougat, dried honey, cashew and light spice.
