As Clare Valley’s oldest winery, Sevenhill has a plentiful supply of old vine resources it can draw on. Their entry level Inigo Shiraz utilises fruit sourced from the Brother Lenz dry grown block (planted in 1973-1974) and the Brother Dan block (planted in 1973). These older vines combined with more recently planted blocks provide fruit of great depth and diversity. Maturation took place in a mixture of new French oak barrels (25%) and older French and American oak.

Rich, chewy, dense and packing plenty of power, this is a welcome return to top form for Sevenhill’s Ingio Shiraz

Impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Elevated scents of ripe black cherry, liquorice and blackberry prevail over toasty vanillin cedar, light earth and blackpepper. Possessing plenty of size and loads of richness the palate is awash with opulent black cherry, liquorice and blackberry flavours which sit over a back drop of toasty oak, subtle earthy black olive characters and blackpepper. Sturdy tannins provide the muscle and hold everything in place. Excellent power with a long ripe black cherry, liquorice, blackberry, toasty oak, earth and blackpepper aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 15.5%
