2016 Schwarz Wine Co. GSM
Deep dark red colour with a tinge of black to the outskirts and a bright purple red hue. The nose is very fragrant with aromas of dark raspberries, plums and liquorice tinged with hints of violets followed by earthy dried herb and spice notes. Succulent and silky, the medium bodied palate is filled with rich, plushly textured flavours of dark raspberries, liquorice, dark plums, earthy incense infusions and subtle spicy dried herb elements. Velvet smooth tannins. Good depth with a long finish of spicy dark raspberries, liquorice, dark plums, earthy incense characters and traces of dried herbs.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 13.8%
Other Reviews….
Slinky texture and although medium weight, there's enough volume here to satisfy just about everyone. Red and black berries run the show before anise and chocolate flavours step forward and fancy it up. The finish then bursts with spice. Well played on all fronts. Drink by 2025.

Invariably one of the best (drinking) Barossa GSM, at least for my tastes.
Cherry, raspberry, spice, floral too, liquorice, but a little sooty/earthy too, which grounds it beautifully. Medium bodied, juicy purple flavoured wine, with a just the right amount of tannin grip, succulence and savoury. Finish is fresh and long. Delightful. Drink 2017-2024.
