2016 S.C. Pannell Nebbiolo

Aged in old oak puncheons for 16 months. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a brick red hue. Bright red and morello cherry aromas intermix with dried herbs, light earth and spicy tobacco notes. Delicious ripe dark and morello cherry fruits are backed by firm chewy tannins and bright acidity with elements of earth, dried herbs, light tobacco and spice on the back palate. Dryish finish with an elegant medium length aftertaste.

Hand-picked, 21 days fermentation/maceration, matured for 16 months in used puncheons. The grapes must have been ultra-expensive - all other costs are minimal. It's a light, bell-clear crimson, the flavours of red cherry and sour cherry, the tannins silky - a masterpiece. Drink by 2036.
