$34. 99
Bottle
$419.88 Dozen
Cellar: 6 - 8 Years (2025-2027)
ABV: 14.5%
Closure: Stelvin
Impenetrable inky black colour with a very deep dark purple black hue. Powerful liquorice, blackberry and dark plum aromas waft out the glass closely followed by lightly scorched vanillin cedar, fennel, blackpepper and spice. Rich and full in body the palate is intensely flavoured with liquorice, blackberry, black cherry and dark plum fruits which are framed by robust tannins giving the wine a sturdy, muscular feel. Elements of fennel and lightly smoked vanillin cedar are also present. Finishes with a burst of blackpepper and despite the wines opulence there’s also an appealing freshness. Excellent depth with a long blackpepper laced aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.

Other Reviews…..
From a single vineyard in Marananga, 3 days cold soak, open-fermented (12-14 days), mlf in barrel plus 18 months maturation, 30% new oak (a French foudre), the remainder used hogsheads. A full-bodied wine with dark fruits, licorice and tar, but good overall balance and mouthfeel. Drink by 2036.
