2016 Reillys Dry Land Shiraz

Sourced from the Reillys Home Block vineyard planted in 1919 with maturation taking place in a combination of French and American oak for 2 years. Impenetrable pitch black in colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Decadently scented the nose offers up heady aromatics of ripe black cherry and liquorice followed by vanillin oak, scorched earth and spicy new leather notes. Lavish black cherry, liquorice and blackberry fruits engulf the full bodied palate. A voluptuous texture backed by ripe chewy tannins which impart a lingering grippiness onto the finish. Smoky vanillin oak, earth and blackpepper characters ensue. Great power and depth with a long opulent aftertaste shaded by some heat.
