2016 Petaluma White Label Chardonnay

Fermented in a combination of French oak barriques, hogsheads and stainless steel tanks followed by partial malolactic fermentation. Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinctive tinge of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Scents of white peach and nectarine join up with citrus and subtle stony mineral notes. Fruit driven flavours of white peaches, ripe nectarines and some tropical fruits dominate the palate which shows good fleshy richness. Melon and spice nuances ensue. Clean dry finish with well judged acidity. Aftertaste of ripe white peaches, nectarines, tropical fruits, melon and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
