2016 Paul Osicka Heathcote Shiraz

Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. The intensely scented nose dispels aromatics of dark plums, liquorice and blackberries followed by toasty vanillin cedar, fennel, light earth and blackpepper. Big, rich and powerful yet refined and structured the palate is awash with dark plum, liquorice and blackberry flavours which intermingle with subtle dried clove infusions, toasty oak and traces of earth. Peppery finish with sturdy yet well integrated tannins giving the otherwise opulent mouthfeel a slightly chewy feel. Long conclusion of blackberry, dark plum, liquorice, infusions of dried clove, toasty vanillin oak and pepper.
