2016 McGuigan The Short List GSM

Matured in new and 1 year old French and American oak for 16 months. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edgings and a bright dark crimson hue. Fragrant dark raspberry, plum and liquorice aromas sail from the glass with an undercurrent of vanillin confectionary, faint earth and spice. Light to medium weight the palate has juicy dark raspberry and ripe plum flavours that intermingle with a touch of liquorice, vanillin cedar and spice. Quite supple in its mouthfeel with velvety tannins. Aftertaste of ripe dark raspberries, plums, traces of liquorice and spicy vanillin cedar.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
