2016 Mac Forbes Syrah

Impressive inky black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. The nose is quite leathery with hints of liquorice, dried meats, graphite and pepper also making an appearance. Medium bodied and elegantly textured the palate also has a prominent leather component which largely smothers the fruits richness. Underlying characters of blackberry, liquorice, dried meats, scorched earth and pepper fade into the distance. Dry chewy tannins with an aftertaste of old saddle leather, blackberries, liquorice, scorched earth and pepper.
