2016 M.Chapoutier Les Meysonniers Crozes-Hermitage

Certified organic this Crozes-Hermitage has a totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep bright dark red hue. Elevated liquorice and blackberry aromas overlaid by dried meats are followed by earthy graphite and smoky pepper notes. The elegant, medium bodied palate is decorated with blackberry, red liquorice and scorched earth flavours followed by notions of graphite, smoked meats and pepper. Retains good freshness on the finish, finely grained tannins providing a good framework. Savoury aftertaste of spicy blackberries, red liquorice, infusions of graphite, smoky earth, dried meats and blackpepper.

Mostly from the eastern part of the appellation, the 2016 Crozes-Hermitage Les Meysonniers offers a violet-tinged, vibrant purple color as well as classic black raspberries, dried earth, and violets aromatics. It's another medium-bodied, elegant, incredibly high-quality wine from this team that will keep for 6-7 years.
