2016 Leconfield The Sydney Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Totally opaque midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense ripe blackcurrant aromas mix with hints of liquorice, mulberry, cigar box, spicy black olive and a faint whiff of bay leaf. Rich blackcurrant and mulberry fruits infused with bay leaf over shadow a black olive, cigar box and spice back drop. Excellent concentration and depth with sturdy tannins firming up the finish. Long robust yet generously fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

A premium blend of optimally positioned fruit-site and ripeness-this is a stellar red. Again, medium-bodied of feel. For the better. Cassis melds with an exploration of the more intriguing side of this stiff upper lipped variety: graphite, lead and a sense of mineral. A feeling of ball bearings popping across the mouth, lubricating the saliva and preparing one for the next sip. Long and impressive. Drink by 2031.
