2016 Koonara Angel's Peak Coonawarra Shiraz

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of ripe blackberries and liquorice flow from the glass trailed by hints of dark chocolate, subtlety toasted vanillin oak and a hint of leather. Rich and quite plump the palate is swamped with opulently textured blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruit which sits atop a back drop of gently smoked vanillin oak, earth and spice. Ripe chewy tannins come across as velvet like. Excellent depth with a long plush conclusion.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
