Semi translucent dark red colour with a light red hue. Dried herb, stalk and rhubarb notes are to the fore followed by toasty cedar and spice. The palate shows more primary fruit characters than the nose but doesn’t have the depth of the 2015. Red cherry and strawberry flavours run into dried clove like characters and spicy cedar. Bright finish with soft fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of red cherries, strawberries, dried cloves and spicy cedar.
