2016 First Drop Wines Cold Sweat Craneford Syrah

Deep cloudy dark red black colour with a dark brick red hue. Fragrant spicy plum and liquorice scents meld into stalky notes, smoked meats and peppered herbs. Medium weighted the palate has a slippery feel with ripe plum and liquorice flavours infused with dried herbs followed by some meatiness, smoky cedar and pepper. Fine grained tannins are quite polished in their feel. Finishes with a long savoury Northern Rhone styled aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Very fine, with detailed tannins that coat the mouth, corral the fruit and coax the saliva, serving as the wine's opus. Otherwise, black and blue fruits, five-spice, mocha and intensely lifted florals that serve as the regional postcode. A polished sheath. Thoroughly delicious. Drink by 2028.
