Incredibly dense inky black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Alluring dark plum, ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas have a subtle graphite edge with vanillin oak and spicy earth notes also present. Voluptuous dark plum, liquorice and dark chocolate flavours are underpinned by toasty vanillin oak and bright acidity with some spicy earth characters in the background. Sturdily built tannin framework with a medium to long aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 15%

Other Reviews….
Crushed and destemmed, closed fermenters, cultured yeast, cold soak, 12 days on skins, fermentation finished in French hogsheads (20% new), 20 months maturation. Dense crimson-purple; it's full-bodied, velvety and rich, dark chocolate an important part of this vinous merry-go-round, the finish with an unexpected sparkle of finesse, likely a farewell present from the French oak. Drink by 2046.
