Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Lovely aromatics of dark plum and liquorice sing from the glass followed by fennel, lightly smoked vanillin cedar, earth, dried herbs and pepper. Silky palate entry with rich dark plum and liquorice flavours flooding the mouth over a back drop of fennel, smoky oak, some meatiness, spicy dried herbs and pepper. Juicy feel with polished velvet like tannins. Excellent depth with a long moreish finish of succulent red to dark fruits, liquorice, smoky oak, fennel, dried herbs and spicy pepper. A very savoury drinking experience.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 13%

Hand-picked and sorted, clones MV6, 114 and 115, 60-70% destemmed, open-fermented, matured in French oak (30% new) for 18 months, all wine movements by gravity or gas. As ever as complex wine, a 50/50% split between place/vine husbandry and the hand of the winemaker. If you master the wile of Geelong, it produces some of Australia's best and most distinctive wines. Drink by 2031.
