2016 Eloquesta Shiraz Petit Verdot

A blend of 50% Shiraz, 49% Petit Verdot and 1% Viognier whole bunch fermented then matured for 28 months in a mixture of new French, Hungarian and Russian oak. Pitch black in colour with a very deep black dark red hue. Pronounced liquorice and ripe blackberry aromas dominate the nose with some dark chocolate, vanillin oak, dried herbs, inky earth and spice also chiming in. Rich blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate flavours are opulent yet have a vibrant feel. Vanillin oak and spicy dried herb characters ensue underpinned by lively acidity and slightly dryish but fine grained tannins. Concludes with a long structured aftertaste.
