Matured for 30 months in French and American oak. Midnight black colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Potent dark plum and liquorice aromatics marry into vanillin cedar, hints of mocha, light scorched earth and spice. Rich, opulent and smooth as silk, lavish dark plum, black cherry and liquorice fruits engulf the palate underscored by smoky vanillin cedar, earthy mocha and spicy pepper nuances. Velvety tannins are perfectly interwoven with the fruit. Exceptional power with long sumptuous and succulent aftertaste.
Drink over the next 8-10 years.
Alc. 14.6%

Other Reviews…
122yo vines, hand-picked over 5 weeks, open-fermented, 8 days on skins, fermentation finished in new French and American puncheons, matured for 30 months in those barrels. Wears its heart on its sleeve, but there's no shame in that when it has a proud record of success for its opulent purple and black fruits and deft oak handling. Drink by 2050.
