Matured in French oak for 18 months. Impenetrable black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense ripe blackcurrant and liquorice aromas intermix with vanillin cedar, traces of mint, light scorched earth and spice. Full bodied, the palate is richly flavoured with ripe blackcurrants, dark plum and a touch of liquorice which sit over a back drop of spicy vanillin cedar, some earthy tobacco and subtle bay leaf nuances. Opulent, velvety feel with super fine tannins beautifully integrated. Excellent power with a long expressive aftertaste of dark blackcurrant fruit, plum, subtle liquorice, cedary tobacco characters and light bay leaf.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Cabernet's bursting swag of currant, dried sage and olive, at least as its voice in warmer climes, is all here in spades. What, though, makes this wine impressive, is its sheer strut across the palate. Buxom and confident, yet dichotomously restrained (at least in a warm climatic context), it coats the inner sanctum with a smooth veneer of tannin and old vine glycerol. Drink by 2036.
