Domaine des Perdrix was taken over in 1996 by the Devillard family-who have a history of wine-making in Burgundy spanning five generations. Prior to the Devillard family's arrival, most of the domaine's production was sold to a trade firm, with the result that the Domaine was not well-known, despite being on some of the best terroirs in Burgundy.
Deep dark red black tinged core that’s opaque and a dark red hue. Aromas of ripe dark cherries and plum meet up with hints of anise over a back drop of forest floor, herbs and spicy cedar. Buttoned up with an inky like feel the palate has intense ripe dark cherry flavours teaming up with traces of anise, inky earth characters, old cedar and spice. Dryish finish with structured, sturdy tannins. Good underlying power with a medium to long aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews….
The black cherry, black currant and violet flavors are pure, with a supporting cast of spice, iron and sandalwood. A broad-shouldered red, with ample tannins and a long, chalky finish. Best from 2023 through 2040.
