2016 Domaine des Escaravailles Le Ventabren Cairanne

Composed of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Carignan, the wines of Cairanne have a fleshy generosity to the fruit which make them a joy to drink. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep bright dark red purple hue. Elevated black raspberry, dark cherry and liquorice scents meld into light incense, spicy earth and provincial herb notes. Rich, juicy and medium to full in body weight, the palate is decorated with black raspberry, black cherry and liquorice flavours which sit over a subtle scorched earth and spicy pepper back drop. Lively finish with polished tannins, excellent depth and a long spicy black raspberry, dark cherry, liquorice, dried herb and pepper aftertaste.
