Other Reviews…
Sunbury stalwart does good from 2016 with a range that spans JADV (viognier) and a new, shiny Reserve wine (actually a reserve wine, but more on that later. This ‘estate’ shiraz is true to form for this brilliant producer some 40-plus years deep on that old site.
Epic shiraz showcasing the Australiana of the variety at its peak. Dark fruits, lavish spice, herbal-brambly notes, faintest whiffs of Aussie bush in eucalyptus and pepperberry and sweet earth, maybe some game meat (kangaroo?!) in the mix. A good, chunky weave of tannin through dark, brooding sluice of liquid berry and more spice, more herbal notes, more pepper, drawls out through a grippy, crushed rock and puckering finish. Gnarled and legit, wild in a way but has poise. Fantastic, again. Drink 2022-2035+
