A blend of Nero d’Avola & Frappato grapes. Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a bright red hue. Fragrant ripe cherry and raspberry scents are complexed by dried herb, leather, scorched earth and spice notes. Light in body, delicious red to dark cherry, raspberry and red currant fruits meld into a back drop of fresh herb infusions, earth and spice. Traces of leather linger on the bright, fresh finish. Fine grained tannins with an elegant yet very savoury aftertaste.
    Cellar 4-5 years.
    Alc. 13%

    Other Reviews……
The 2016 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico is a very nice wine that shows a smooth texture and a delicate approach that grows in intensity. There are small-berry aromas with cassis, wild raspberry and dried blueberry, which would spruce up any pasta like a Sicilian pasta alla Norma. A blend of 40% Frappato and 60% Nero d'Avola aged in oak barrels for 12 months, the wine is delicate and smooth, with tiny steps that go the long haul. The tannins are well integrated and give the wine a firm, upstanding backbone. Some 83,000 bottles were made. Drink 2019-2030.

From the amphora-littered southern Etna slope vineyards of COS.
Sweet berries, earthiness, a kind of compote scent then ash, old spice cupboard, old leather. Yummo. Flesh and sinew to taste, exotic spice dusted on sour cherry and game meat, a flash of blood orange acidity, green herbs and peppery stuff to finish. So pleasant, so pleasing, so of a place, it feels. Drink 2021 - 2024.
