2016 Coriole Lloyd Reserve Shiraz

Midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense liquorice, blackberry and black cherry scents meld into gently smoked vanillin cedar, fennel and pepper notes. Exceptionally rich and concentrated the palate is swamped with opulent black cherry, liquorice and blackberry fruits which are backed by robust tannins and sculptured acidity which gives the wine a muscular feel. Vanillin cedar, faint notions of black olive, fennel and blackpepper are also present. Excellent depth with a long rich yet stern aftertaste.

From the 1919 estate planting, hand-picked, whole berries open-fermented, 10 days on skins, matured for 19 months in barrel and 2 years in bottle before release. An extremely focused and regal wine, its future virtually unlimited. Savoury black fruits, earth and dark chocolate are joined together at the hip, a bond that won't be broken.
