Outstanding colour displaying an inky black core and a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced blackcurrant aromas mix with black cherry and liquorice followed by lightly toasted cedar, scorched earth and spice. Bursting with richness are blackcurrant, black cherry and liquorice fruits which overlay lightly toasted vanillin cedar, earth and spicy pepper nuances. Sturdy yet polished tannins with good freshness to the long refined aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.

Other reviews….
Sourced from farther afield than Duane Coates' usual turf, this beautifully aromatic, mid-weighted and highly savoury malbec hails from Robe, on the Limestone Coast. wild-fermented with partial whole berries, extracted sensitively with a good dash of exceptional oak (18 months, 45% new), this has a mellifluous flow from fore to aft across a svelte cushion of violet, dark cherry and svelte tannins, pulling it all to a long linger. This is a lovely drink. Drink by 2025.
