'…one of the best values I’ve seen in a long time…’ - Jeb Dunnuck.

Excellent depth of colour displaying a black dark red heart with a bright purple red hue. Pronounced aromatics of black cherries, liquorice and black raspberries are overlaid by notions of incense with subtle scorched earth and spicy pepper notes also apparent. The palate delivers on both richness and concentration with succulent black raspberry, liquorice and black cherry flavours flooding the mouth. Deep, dense and boasting superb power, elements of provincial dried herbs, scorched earth, pepper and spice kick in on the back palate. Ripe, slightly chewy tannins provide structure whilst perfectly integrated fresh acidity gives the wine vitality and energy. Long delicious black raspberry, black cherry, liquorice, incense and spicy pepper aftertaste. An absolute belter for the money.
Cellar 4-5 years.

Other Reviews….
Even better and one of the best values I’ve seen in a long time, the 2016 Ventoux Les Ribes du Vallat checks in as a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah brought up all in stainless steel. It offers a huge nose of garrigue, saddle leather, rare meat and loads of blackcurrant fruit. With full-bodied richness, a ripe, decadent, opulent profile and no hard edges, it’s a no-brainer purchase and ideal for drinking over the coming 2-4 years.
