2016 Chandon Vintage Brut

A plentiful mousse hovers over a pale straw coloured base that has pale gold tinged edges and is finely threaded by a persistent stream of tiny bubbles. Lifted pear and red apple scents merge into some dried honey, brioche and yeast lees notes. Mouth watering flavours of pear, yeast lees and citrus are delivered with ample concentration over a back drop of brioche, subtle cashew and chalky mineral elements. Gently creamed mouth feel with a dry, crisp and lengthy finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Fruit from the Strathbogie Ranges and King Valley. Not shown on the new, bold labels that the wine was disgorged in June ’21, the only label claim is traditional method. The fine mousse is very active in the mouth, and the dosage has been kept to a low level ex the long time the wine was on tirage.
