Aged in a combination of new (20%), second and third use French oak barrels. Totally opaque black colour with a deep dark purple black tinged hue. Aromas of ripe blackberry, liquorice and hints of dark chocolate meld into vanillin cedar and spice. Plump and juicy the medium weighted palate offers up rich blackberry, liquorice and subtle dark chocolate flavours over vanillin cedar, earth and spice. Very fine grained well integrated tannins. Spicy aftertaste of dark chocolate, liquorice, blackberry and earthy vanillin cedar.
