A blend of shiraz, nebbiolo and a little sangiovese. The 2015 was superb, but held no sangiovese, “I think it added a fruitiness that was missing”, says Julian Castagna.
Aromas of game meat, old spice cupboard, black tea. The palate is juicy, judiciously fruity and whipped into shape with more black tea tannin and savoury spice. It’s medium weight, rises on blood orange acidity, cranberry juice flavours. Such superb drinking to be had here.
