2016 Bent Creek Black Dog Shiraz

A rich, lavish McLaren Vale beauty that saturates the mouth with luscious black fruits.

Matured for 14 months in a mixture of French and American oak. Impressive depth of colour featuring an impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Powerfully scented, nosing offers up blackberry, ripe dark plum and liquorice aromas over vanillin oak, earth and blackpepper. Rich and dense with an opulent texture the full bodied palate boasts an intense flavour profile of luscious ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plums which are carried by underlying vanillin cedar and a touch of scorched earth finishing with some blackpepper. There’s good structure to the velvet like tannins which provide a solid framework for the lavish black fruits to work around. Bold finish with a notably long aftertaste of juicy ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark plums, vanillin cedar, scorched earth and blackpepper.
