2016 Atze's Corner The Bachelor Shiraz

Impenetrable inky black colour with a deep dark red black hue. Lifted blackberry, black cherry and liquorice aromas meld into smoky vanillin oak, earth and pepper notes. The rich, full bodied palate combines opulent black fruits with a youthful freshness delivering mouthfilling flavours of luscious ripe black cherries, liquorice and blackberries. The under card is an assemblage of smoky vanillin cedar, scorched earth and spicy pepper. Beneath the rich fruit the sturdy tannins appear velvet like. Long black pepper infused finish of black fruits, toasty vanillin cedar and spicy scorched earth.

This full-bodied, voluptuous shiraz is founded on deft winemaking, layering the smooth sheath of ripe black fruit and gentle licorice to spice flavours with a massaged hand of silken tannins, a clench of reductive tension, judicious oak and a gentle acid breeze. Drink by 2027.
