2016 Agathist Alchemy First Wine Grenache

This is Torbreck winemaker Craig Isbel’s own label. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light bright red hue. Beautifully fragrant, scents of dark raspberries, ripe dark cherries, plum and a hint of liquorice flow effortlessly from the glass showing great intensity. Notes of confectionary and subtle dried herbs also chime in. Ripe and juicy in its textural feel, tremendously concentrated and rich flavours of dark raspberries, dark cherries, plum and liquorice flood the mouth underscored by subtle dried herb infusions. Spicy finish with well balanced vibrant acidity and supple, cashmere like tannins. Long aftertaste of spicy dark raspberries, ripe cherries, plums, liquorice, subtle scorched earth and dried herbs.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
